This edited book is hot off the press and part of a three part trilogy, edited by Steven High. Its an invaluable class resource for anyone addressing history and the contemporary politics of sensitive stories. The chapter I wrote with Michele Luchs discusses strategies of participation in the outreach part of a media project. We write about how we involved three youth in a regional tour to share their digital stories with high school students and why this is both ethical and effective.

This is a great book and I use a few chapters in my graduate classes to discuss the complexities of doing oral histories. In the chapter I wrote, I discuss the process of involving youth in a unique bus tour as a means of building awareness.

If you are curating a class or a festival or just planning a screening, there are some great lists in this book including ArtDox, Anarchist Films, Feminist Docs, Eco-Docs, African Docs, Aboriginal Politics and more.
